The lens construction includes 14 elements in 12 groups, with three high-precision aspherical elements and two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements. This optical formula suppresses sagittal coma flare – a key advantage for astrophotography – and delivers consistent sharpness from the centre of the frame to the very edges. Fine details, such as stars or architectural lines, are reproduced with crisp definition, even when shooting wide open at F1.4. Combined with Sigma’s advanced coatings, flare and ghosting are also minimised, producing high-contrast results in all conditions.
