Drone Licence
Please note that all UK camera drones must be registered with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and you must adhere to CAA Safety Regulations.
To fly legally, drones below 250g require an Operator ID. The Operator ID is required for the person who owns the drone.
For drones weighing 250g and over, the requirement is more stringent. You need both an Operator ID (for the person who owns the drone) and a Flyer ID (for the pilot/person flying the drone).
For the latest rules and regulations, please regularly check the CAA website: https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/

DJI drones have a drone for every budget and use, from the Mini series, which weighs 249g or less, to full commercial filming drones such as the Inspire range and everything in between, like the Mavic series or FPV (first-person view) drones in the Avata series.
One of the standout features of DJI drones is their advanced tracking technology. With Follow Mode, you can effortlessly Track Your subject, ensuring you capture every moment from a unique aerial perspective. DJI's drones are designed to make sure you never miss a moment from above.
Capture your moments from above with a mini drone, FPV, or professional aerial camera. Shoot impressive aerial videos with Mavic 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, Air 3, and Inspire 3 ranges, offering 4K, 5.2K, or 8K video with single or multi-camera options to increase your perspectives.
Professional models feature D-Log and D-Log M video options for enhanced editing and colour grading abilities and 48MP stills options with impressive dynamic range and up to 12-bit RAW files.
There's lots to consider when buying a new DJI Drone. At Wilkinson Cameras, we know that camera quality and image sensor size might be important factors to take into account. But, you also need to think about how you want to use the drone. Drones under 250g in weight, such as the DJI Mini SE 2, Mini 3 and Mini 4 Pro, are subject to fewer restrictions than larger drones and are therefore ideal if you like to travel light and if you want a drone which you can legally fly in more places. The DJI Mini series offers up to 4K/60 video and impressive stills. It's an ideal addition to any photographer or videographer's kit bag to add a new perspective instantly. All DJI Mini models feature Obstacle Avoidance and Return to Home options and intuitive handling, even for beginner drone pilots.
If you are happy to have a drone weighing 250g or more, then look to the DJI Air 3 or Mavic 3 series. These are more suited to professionals and enthusiasts. The DJI Mavic 3 Pro features a Micro FourThirds sized image sensor and 3 cameras for 3 different focal lengths, which is ideal for filmmakers who need establishing, mid, and close-up shots from one flight. Professionals, production houses and dedicated filmmakers will definitely want to consider the DJI Mavic 3 Pro or Mavid 3 Pro Cine. The Pro Cine also shoots Apple ProRes and has a 1TB internal hard drive. All Mavic and Air models feature Obstacle Avoidance and Return to Home options and intuitive handling, even for beginner drone pilots.
If you want a drone capable of shooting 4K video but where having fun is the number one priority, then the DJI Avata FPV (First Person View) drone is the one for you. The DJI Avatar 2 is controlled via the FPV headset and, unlike other DJI drones, does not feature Obstacle Avoidance, which means you can fly it through much smaller gaps and at speeds up to 36mph!
For truly professional filmmakers and cinematographers, look no further than the DJI Inspire 3. Shooting 8K/75 with both a main full-frame L-Mount filming camera and an FPV (First Person View) camera for your pilot. Please contact us for a B2B quote if you want to add a DJI Inspire 3 and lenses to your company's equipment.
Although DJI drones have safety features (most models; please see specific product for exact features) such as Return to Home (RTH), Obstacle Avoidance, and battery power warnings, you can add extra peace of mind with DJI Care Refresh. DJI Care Refresh is available for most DJI products as an optional insurance product and covers Collision, Water Damage, Flyaway losses, and natural wear and tear for either 1 or 2 years*.
*2 year plan only available on certain DJI products.
