The SD-9 is a high capacity external battery pack which can be used with either 4x or 8x AA batteries. It increases both the number of flashes and the recycling time of the unit (to as little as 1 second).

SD-9 Battery Pack

The Nikon SD-9 Flash Battery Pack greatly increases the number of flash firings of the SB-900, SB-910 and SB-5000 Speedlights. It can hold up to 8x AA sized batteries but can be used with just 4 batteries too. The battery pack ensures a stable power supply for your compatible flashgun and greatly increases the number of flashes possible while also reducing recycling time - total minimum flash recycling time can be as fast as 1.0 seconds when used with quality AA Ni-MH batteries, and the capacity per round of batteries is about doubled.

Compatibility

The SD-9 Battery Pack is compatible with the following: SB-900, SB-910 and SB-5000 as well as the SK-6A Power Bracket.
