The Photo trip of a life time
Days 1, 2 and 3
Our tour of Iceland will begin after we collect you from Keflavik airport and head east to the town of Vik where you will see the landscape of Iceland for the first time and begin your photography, time and weather permitting, during stops on our way. We will spend two days exploring the black beaches and unbelievable sea stacks surrounding Vik as well as the stunning black inter-tidal areas with lava flows and grasslands and of course two of the world’s most famous waterfalls, Skogarfoss and Seljalandfoss.
Days 4 and 5
We then leave Vik and head for the renowned glacial area of Jokulsarlon exploring the grasslands at the feet of the mountains and lava fields during our journey. We spend two days in the Jokulsarlon area exploring the overwhelming glacial lagoons that are constantly fed with fresh icebergs by the nearby glaciers. These lagoon rivers then lead out to the Atlantic where small bergs are washed up onto the black beaches.
Day 6 and 7
After our time at Jokulsarlon we venture west again and en-route to our hotel at Gulfoss stopping off at some of the many beautiful waterfalls that line our route cascading down from the mountains above. We explore the often-overlooked 'Icelandic Flatlands' with old farms, vast open grasslands and volcanic monoliths that hug the coastline.
At Gulfoss we will visit the areas amazing geysers and of course spend time at the mighty Gulfoss waterfall, which is a must for any photographer visiting Iceland.
Our last port of call will be to travel from Gulfoss to our final hotel which is about 45 minutes from Reykjavik. The remainder of the final day will be spent reviewing images, post processing and relaxing after our journey in the world famous Blue Lagoon if you choose.
We have breakfast at our hotel and head for Keflavik airport to depart from Iceland.
This workshop will take you to some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes on the planet and you will be working with Michael on a 1 to 1 basis to ensure you make the most of your time here and master your landscape photography skills. As always with aspect2i, we will also be reviewing images during our time in Iceland and completing the photographic journey by post processing images so you return home with your finished masterpieces!
