From Street to Studio
Alex Benyon presents "From Street to Studio". Join wedding and portrait photographer Alex Benyon as he shares his own personal experiences of switching to the Sony mirrorless system. In particular, how using the Sony Alpha system allows him to work unobtrusively and unnoticed during his documentary wedding and street photography sessions. He will demonstrate the power of photographic storytelling through his own work and will share how he approaches documentary photography in order to capture beautifully authentic and genuine moments with the Sony Alpha system.
Alex is a professional portrait and documentary photographer based out of his studio in the heart of Leicester. Having been diagnosed with depression in his early twenties, Alex began shooting street and documentary photography as his own approach to improving his mental health. Eventually, this love for photography naturally led to Alex being drawn to reportage style wedding photography and discovering a fascination with the psychology behind portrait photography.
Alex also has a genuine passion for teaching and sharing his photographic techniques and approaches with individuals and groups through workshops and events. He also enjoys giving talks and sharing his experiences at events and photography conventions around the UK.
