Excellent image quality

This lens features Sigma's first f/1.2 maximum aperture, prime lens design to deliver excellent image quality while optimizing size, aswell as weight. The constant f/1.2 maximum aperture is also well-suited for working in a range of lighting conditions and helps to achieve shallow depth of field. The rounded 11 blade diaphragm also contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Quick and quiet AF

The lens includes a large Hyper Sonic motor which allows for quick, quiet and smooth autofocus performance. There is also the option for manual focus, which can be clicked off at any time for smooth and silent aperture switching, which is beneficial for capturing video footage. The built-in Autofocus-Lock (AFL) button can be assigned additional functions to widen the range of operations available on the lens.

Improved clarity and colour accuracy

3 Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements considerably reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy. Plus, the three aspherical elements, including a double-sided aspherical lens element, control spherical aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness and accurate rendering.

Durable

The front lens element has been treated with a water and oil repellent coating to benefit working in harsh environmental conditions. In addition, weather-resistant construction with a brass bayonet means improved mounting accuracy and rigidity.
