Sigma's flagship lens has evolved. The lens has been fully redesigned to take advantage of the latest technologies and includes an improved AF motor, Sigma's HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) for high-speed AF and improved image quality across the zoom range. The lens also includes a built-in aperture ring to control the depth of field of your images and AFL function buttons that can be programmed for increased control. All of this is packed within a unit which is approximately 7% smaller and 10% lighter than it's predecessor. Lightweight at only 745g and with an impressive close focussing distance of 17cm, the new Sigma 24-70 F2.8 DG DN Lens is an all-round lens which is essential for any photographer or videographer. 

Using the latest optical design technologies, the lens has improved optical performance and increased resolution throughout the zoom range, making it ideal for use with modern high-resolution mirrorless cameras. Capture the world in stunning detail with the F2.8 aperture and impressive close-up focussing distance of 17cm to produce images with beautiful, soft bokeh. The lens also has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, very useful for those times when space is limited. These features with it's fantastic low-light ability make this an ideal lens for using in any situation. 

Flare and ghosting are largely eliminated thanks to the use of special Nano Porous and Super Multi-layer coatings applied to the front of the lens. The lens' optical construction provides strong backlight resistance for clear and sharp images under any lighting conditions. The lens has been designed to suppress focus breathing, with change in the angle-of-view due to focus shift being minimised to create natural-looking focus pulls when recording video. The lens is equipped with a de-clickable aperture ring, providing direct control of the aperture when capturing stills and video. This can also be locked to prevent accidental changes mid-flow. Two AFL buttons are present which can be assigned to a range of functions via the menu on compatible cameras. These are positioned on the side and top of the lens barrel to allow easy access whether the camera is positioned landscape or portrait. The lens incorporates a linear HLA motor for the AF actuator, increasing the maximum drive speed to more than three-times faster that it's predecessor. The lens is dust and splash resistant and features a water/oil repellent coating on the front element which allows work to continue despite the surrounding conditions.
