The SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | C is a super telephoto lens which allows you to broaden your shooting scope and capture subjects even if they are a distance away. Reach even further when attaching the lens to an APS-C camera thanks to the 1.6x crop which will extend the lens' focal range to approx. 240-960mm. The lens' variable aperture has helped to keep the lens fairly compact and lightweight, particularly when you consider the focal power within.

The lens features a fast and precise autofocus system driven by a stepping motor. SIGMA's Optical Stabilisation (OS) offers up to 4 stops of compensation which helps to deliver stable, sharp images across the focal range. Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and Fluorite Low Dispersion (FLD) elements have been included within the structure of the lens to help to minimise chromatic aberration and maintain sharpness across the frame, even at the long end. A Super Multi-Layer Coating helps to suppress flare and ghosting, improving image quality where a subject is backlit or surrounding light is harsh.

SIGMA have kept the size and weight down as much as possible for a lens which provide such focal power. The lens, for such a range is fairly compact and lightweight and will fit into most mid-sized camera backpacks. The lens weighs in at just under 2kg, keeping the overall weight of your setup down, meaning that it is fully possible to use the lens handheld for extended shooting sessions. Should the need arise, the lens is supplied with an Arca-Swiss compatible tripod collar for attaching to tripods and monopods. This does also feature a 1/4' female thread for screwing onto tripods and heads where necessary.

The lens is compatible with SIGMA's USB Dock for firmware updates and customisation, such as AF speed adjustment and OS settings. The lens also features a focus limiter allowing limiting of the AF search range for faster focussing, making it easier when shooting fast-moving subjects.

The lens is perfect for a number of different types of shooting. The long focal range makes it ideal for shooting wildlife from a distance, whilst its speed makes it a quality choice for sports and action. Again, the length makes the lens ideal for shooting birds in flight and planes at lower levels i.e. at airshows.
