Samyang’s 50mm T1.5 VDSLR II AS UMC is a standard focal length, manual focus cine lens designed for full frame and smaller sensor sizes and is known for its beautiful bokeh. With full-frame cameras, it gives 46.2 degrees field of view and thanks to high brightness value of T1.5 and decoupled aperture, it performs well in poor lighting conditions, ensuring impressive image quality and shallow depth of field.
- Hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP) and glass aspherical lens (ASP)
- Circular aperture with 8 blades
- Ultra Multi Coating (UMC)
- Uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring
- VDSLR II CINE LENS
It has been carefully designed for professional film and video work, with the focus gear ring allowing the use of follow focus systems. The decoupled aperture changes quietly and smoothly via another gear ring.
The T number of 1.5 refers to the actual light transmission, while distance scales are marked on both sides of the lens to allow easy and precise control.
The optics consist of nine lens elements arranged in six groups (including one aspherical and one hybrid aspherical lens element). To ensure high contrast and true colour reproduction, all lens elements have multi-layered UMC anti-reflective coatings, reducing flare and ghosting. The Samyang 50mm T1.5 VDSLR ensures exceptionally smooth and aesthetic mapping for out of focus areas (Bokeh effect) beyond the focal plane, thanks to the eight-bladed aperture. This feature will be appreciated by professional filmmakers and photographers taking portrait shots.
A detachable petal-shaped lens hood is provided and the lens body ade from high-strength aluminum alloy for strength and durability.
Samyang Optics VDSLR Line
The Samyang VDSLR series of lenses have been designed with professional videographers in mind. Designed for sensor sizes up to full frame, all lenses in the series produce the same image colour and share the same aperture and focus gear ring location. This means consistent, convenient results when filming, even if you change lenses between scenes.
