The lens features an outstanding maximum aperture of f/1.2, which enables you to utilise the beautiful soft focus for more impressive, creative shots.

High-Speed Middle Telephoto Single Focal Length Lens with 9 Diaphragm Blades
The 42.5 mm of middle-telephoto focal distance (35 mm camera equivalent: 85 mm) is suitable for portrait with rich stereoscopic effect. Together with the high-speed aperture, you can utilize the beautiful soft focus for more impressive shots. 9 blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. It is also possible to capture landscape with natural perspective. In addition, the aperture ring allows direct, intuitive control over aperture setting.
Inner Focus System and High-speed Stepping Motor for Smooth, Silent Focusing
This lens incorporates a superior inner focus system, which enables excellent resolution and contrast from close-up to infinity. The inclusion of newly developed stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and silent for use in both photo and video recording. Notably the performance of AF is by far superior to the phase-difference AF when fast lens with smaller F value is used. When mounted on the cameras of LUMIX G, you can take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision Contrast AF system.
