This lens has a huge focal range, equivalent to that of 200-800mm on a full-frame sensor. Super-telephoto lenses such as this will always be associated with capturing subjects which are far away, or that we cannot get close to, such as wildlife, aviation etc. However, with a close focussing distance of just 1.3 across the whole focal range, this lens is an outstanding choice for telemacro photography, perfect for use with subjects which may be easily startled such as insects. It also supports focus stacking mode, combining multiple images at varying focal points to create sharp, detailed images with an extended depth of field.
