In this workshop, Raj will share his experiences as a creative artist, delving into the processes of storyboarding and building out his ideas.

With the assistance of a professional model, he will guide you through the steps of capturing compelling conceptual portraits. Raj will provide valuable insights on gear selection, lighting setups, technical requirements, and the art of achieving stunning results with minimal resources, allowing you to build a unique and imaginative portfolio.

During this session, you'll have the exclusive opportunity to work alongside Raj, capturing shots and gaining valuable knowledge. Feel free to ask any questions about Raj's practice or your own creative journey.

In this workshop, we will cover the following key aspects:

• Planning, shoot preparation, and setup
• Camera and lens selection, lighting techniques, and essential accessories
• The role of props in enhancing your work
• Accentuating details and working with a professional model

Raj Khepar is a professional photographer and retoucher known for his diverse portfolio, which includes commercial photography, event coverage, corporate headshots, and product photography.

He honed his skills while studying at Farnham University for the Creative Arts and has since shared his expertise with photographers of all levels.

Raj's work spans various photography genres, and he has collaborated with Canon on numerous projects, as well as conducting workshops on commercial advertising, landscape, portraiture, and wildlife photography.

This event is supported by Canon, who will be providing a huge list of kit to use on the day. For this workshop, we'd like you to take the opportunity to try out the latest Canon EOS R cameras and lenses. It's a great chance to try out that new lens you've been eyeing up or put Canon's incredible autofocus systems to the test in a real-world setting.

Raj has extensive knowledge of the Canon system and will help you to use the features in the cameras to get the very most from the day, whether you are an existing Canon user or have never picked up a Canon camera until now!

The event includes free Canon equipment hire. We'd like you to leave your non-Canon cameras at home for this event! These workshops take place in Wilkinson Cameras Liverpool and Wilkinson Cameras Carlisle stores in the dedicated learning spaces and studios on the first floor of each store. Unfortunately there is no dedicated wheelchair access to these spaces. However, there are both refreshment and toilet facilties on the same floor. Therefore if you have reduced mobility, but are able to go up one flight of stairs (perhaps with assistance), we hope you will still feel able to attend and enjoy the day.

You will need:

• An SD memory card (these will be available to purchase in-store if required) so you can record your images and take them home
• Canon cameras and lenses are provided - we encourage you to use them
• You can bring your own Canon EOS R series camera body if you wish to use this or to simply try out some lenses

We will provide:

• Canon EOS R cameras and RF lenses
• Tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks on arrival

The day:

There are TWO identical workshops taking place in each location, with the choice of either a morning or an afternoon session. You will choose this when making a purchase.

Morning session: 10am - 1pm

Afternoon session: 2pm - 5pm

Start: Please note that the morning / afternoon sessions will start promptly at the start time and we advise arriving 15 minutes early to get settled.

End: Please note that workshops can run over due to unforseen circumstances, Q&A, etc. Always plan additional time for your journey home.
