Three Shooting Modes
The Benro RedDog R1 has 3 Operation modes that are controlled by pressing down on the Mode/On side button. These operation modes are:
- Locked-down mode (Blue Light) – this keeps the camera locked on a subject while the gimbal is moving. With this mode you can replicate movements like a jib or a slider.
- Horizontal Follow Mode (Red Light) – this mode provides smooth movement when moving the camera horizontally. This mode is perfect for dynamic panning.
- Universal Follow Mode (Pink Light) – this mode will let you achieve smooth movements when moving the camera in both horizontal and vertical directions.
You can find further controls on the moulded silicone handle. This is where the camera position control, zoom, shutter and recording can all be controlled with compatible Sony and Panasonic cameras. Or they can be controlled by using the Benro RedDog app for Android and iOS, this is done remotely via Bluetooth. This also allows you to programme the R1 to shoot multi-row panoramas and dynamic time-lapse images. The R1 can even recharge the camera for longer shooting times.
