This course provides the ideal opportunity to learn about your Canon EOS DSLR and the wider EOS system teaching you everything you need to know to switch off auto and get shooting creatively with your Canon DSLR. A variety of lenses and accessories will be available on the day and David will guide you through the very basics through to advanced shooting options so you can get the very most from your Canon DSLR. Knowing how to use your camera properly opens up tremendous possibilities so you are free to create spectacular results.

     

    Course requirements:

    This course is suitable for current Canon EOS users who want to get the very best from their camera and those interested in buying a Canon EOS DSLR. If you have a camera then please bring it with you on the day ensuring you have a suitable memory card, a lens and a fully charged battery.  There will be some cameras available to test on the day for anyone looking to buy and it will be a very good introduction to the Canon system if you are looking to switch brands or looking for your first camera - as well as providing you with some essential camera basics to ensure you get off to a good start no matter which camera you choose.

     

    About David Newton:

    David will take you through EOS system and related accessories. His plain-English, jargon free approach and easy-going personality will put you at ease so you can learn effectively. He is a very experienced photographer, videographer and trainer. These courses are sponsored by Canon, which allows us to offer them at the current price. A full day course with David usually costs in excess of £150.

     

    Although wildlife, landscapes and travel photography were his first love and still what he prefers to do, these days David Newton can be found photographing almost anything, from product shots and commercial work to abstract close-ups, portraiture and event photography. Recognised for his technical knowledge and approach to photography, David is often sought out by major photographic companies including Canon and SanDisk to provide a variety of services including training seminars, live presentation, technical expertise and photographic/video services.

    David’s photography and writing has been widely published. Among others, he has written for EOS Magazine, Canon Professional Network and PhotoPlus. He has also written technical and marketing material for both Canon and SanDisk. His photography has been published in all the above magazines as well as specialist publications such as Country Life and BBC Wildlife and the national press including The Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Express and The Sun.

     

    Outcome:

    By the end of the course you will have a good understanding of Canon DSLR's, how to navigate the menu systems and how to select the best settings for your needs. You will understand the difference between various models and understand the difference between various EF and EF-S lenses and feel confident to choose the right lens and accessories for your needs in the future.

     

     

    The Day:

    This course takes place at The Liverpool Learning Suite. Tea, coffee, etc. will be provided and atendees will ve given time for lunch. Lunch is not provided, but our central location means that there are many lunch options within a short walk. If you wish to bring your own packed lunch, then we do provide a fridge and guests are welcome to eat their lunch in The Learning Suite.

    Courses start at 10am, but feel free to arrive from 9.30am in order to get a coffee and relax beforehand. Courses finish at approximately 4.30pm, but this time may change, so please allow extra time when making travel arrangements.

     

    Accessibility:

    Please note that The Learning Suite is on the 1st floor of our Liverpool store and our toilet facilities are on the 2nd floor.

    Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access. However, our staff are always on hand if you require any assistance. We are open for viewings 7 days a week, if you want to check the accessibility beforehand.
