The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years old and available to work for a minimum of 3 hours on a number of Saturdays throughout the year, and some week days. There is also scope to join us as a model at our annual photography show, in Liverpool, Digital Splash in October each year.
We run regular workshops with leading professional photographers and brands such as Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, etc. and regularly require a model who is confident, outgoing, polite and comfortable working in front of groups of people. You will need to be able to take direction from the photographer(s), but also be able to use your own initiative. Shoots take place both indoors in our studio and out on location around the surrounding areas. No prior experience is necessary, but would be advantageous. We may ask that you come in for a quick face-to-face meeting or test shoot prior to booking.
Our main focus is on the technical side of the photography, rather than the overall styling! MUA’s (makeup artists) and Stylists are therefore not usually present. The ability to do your own hair, makeup and styling are essential. We will supply you with the information required, such as a style or look(s) we are looking for. This is usually very simple and aims to be achievable using your own every day clothing and makeup. We do provide a makeup and changing area with mirrors, good lighting and electrical sockets for hair styling equipment, etc. if required.
The hourly rate will be subject to experience and discussed upon successful application. Sometimes the photographers and customers on the course will be happy to share their images for you to use in your portfolio, but this is not guaranteed and would be considered a bonus, rather than being included. Travel expenses are not included, so this role is ideally suited to someone within Liverpool or with easy access to Liverpool. Flexibility is crucial as new workshops are always being added, shoot lengths may vary and many take place on weekends.
At least one headshot and one full length shot typical are essential to apply for the role, but you are welcome to show us an online portfolio or attach extra images if you wish. We will usually be asking for a general fashion-look, so please let your pictures reflect this.
