Samyang’s 14mm T3.1 VDSLR II ED AS IF UMC is a wide angle, manual focus cine lens designed for use on DSLR cameras with full-frame and smaller sensor sizes.
- Hybrid glass aspherical lens (H-ASP)
- Glass aspherical lens (ASP)
- High-refractive, extra low dispersion lens (HR ED)
- Uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring
- VDSLR II CINE LENS
- Circular with 6 blades
It has been carefully designed for professional film and video work, with the focus gear ring allowing the use of follow focus systems. The decoupled aperture changes quietly and smoothly via another gear ring.
The T number of 3.1 refers to the actual light transmission, while distance scales are marked on both sides of the lens to allow easy and precise control.
This lens features 14 elements in 10 groups including 3 high-refractive, extra low dispersion elements (HR ED), 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP) and 1 glass aspherical lens (ASP). These elements combine to minimise colour aberration and realise exceptional image quality, even with the aperture fully opened.
UMC (Ultra Mutli Coating) reduces ghosting and flare and results in sharper images.
A detachable petal-shaped lens hood is provided and the lens body ade from high-strength aluminum alloy for strength and durability.
Samyang Optics VDSLR Line
The Samyang VDSLR series of lenses have been designed with professional videographers in mind. Designed for sensor sizes up to full frame, all lenses in the series produce the same image colour and share the same aperture and focus gear ring location. This means consistent, convenient results when filming, even if you change lenses between scenes.
