- The GT5542LOS is a modular Systematic tripod, with a flat centre disk that can be interchanged for centre columns, levelling bases and other components designed for specific applications. A ratchet lever lock makes interchanging components fast and easy, while a new secondary safety catch protects centre components and attached camera equipment against accidental damage, even if the centre component is inadvertently left unlocked. Adding to the set up speed and convenience - vitally important in extreme conditions and remote locations - is the Ocean G-Lock system, which requires only a quarter turn to lock or unblock each leg section. Systematic tripods are Gitzo's strongest and most stable, with a number of design and construction features combining to offer unparalleled load capacities: the triangular design of the Systematic shoulder element distributes weigh more safely, efficiently and evenly than ever, and a new bonding process between leg tubes and metal components has almost doubled payloads. Built-in spiked feet add stability and safety, without sacrificing set-up speed. The GT5542LOS is a Gitzo Series 5 tripod - the largest and strongest in the Ocean range.
